Well I just got mine a few days ago and all I have to say is WOW and not one dead pixel that I can see and I did not buy this monitor for the web cam or the speakers to me thats just a little bonus I bought this VX2255wmb for it’s performance and image quality and the 4000:1 dynamic Contrast Ratio and I think Tigerdirect should recheck the specs and everyone knows that monitor speakers sound like elevator speakers but as for the web cam I did not try it yet but i’m sure it is average it is only a 1.3 megapixel.

Don’t you hate it when people write a review that reveals more about their lack of knowledge than anything else? Well, here’s the low down on the ViewSonic VX2255wmb 22” Widescreen LCD Monitor from a geek. First, it’s shiny black with a beautiful bezel with just a hint of chrome at the bottom. Second, it has a hidden swivel base, a telescoping main support, and it also tilts. Second, the built in speakers are average for built in monitor speakers in this price range, personally I use a pair of desktop speakers instead. Third, the webcam is a regular 1.3 megapixel, so of course the resulting picture isn’t that great, but it’s as good as any other low res webcam. The built in mic is also nice. Basically, this is an excellent monitor for all general purpose use. Both pictures and text appear crisp and bright. I’ve been using it for about a year and I’m happy enough to have bought 3 more for family members. You’ll be very happy with this monitor.

OK, here is the real deal on the ViewSonic VX2255WMB 22” Monitor. I purchased 2 of them. They have very clear and detailed pictures, but I am not a graphic designer, so just about any monitor looks fairly decent to me. I made my decision based on the ViewSonic Brand Name & the built-in WebCam & Speakers as I wanted to save deskspace. Well, when I set everything up, installed software, turned it on, and began using the features I became very dissapointed. The WebCam is kind of cool, but the quality is that of a cheap cell phone camera, and the speakers are an ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!, what a bunch of junk!!! I could have got better speakers at the local Dollar Store. These speakers put out hardly any volume and the sound they put out is very sub-par. Not to mention, other monitors out there come with USB Ports and more digital outputs that this viewsonic. Shop around & save yourself $70 to $100 per/ monitor and do with out the lame webcam and ever-so-cheap built-in speakers!!!
