I have been a loyal owner of several Sony products. At first, I was very impressed with the performance of such an inexpensive laptop. That being said, the negative side to this and other Vaio VGN series products is this: Do not attempt to make ANY changes to the system configuration….and I’m speaking to those of you who like to get the most out of your computer. THERE IS NO RECOVERY DISK and no way to start in any alternative startup methods (i.e., safe mode, command prompt, networking, last good boot up). You will have to call Sony and purchase one for $20 plus shipping and wait for it to come in the mail. Don’t try to find it online (via shareaza or limewire) as I spent several hours searching to no avail. So please….if you do decide to buy one…remember that Vista is not as forgiving to changes as XP and above all….MAKE A BACK UP CD AS SOON AS YOU PURCHASE IT.
