Shipping was fast (~ 2days). So far everything is fine. Pros: Lots of features has listed above. Hopefully the reliability is high. Cons: The audio quality is not too good, the max volume is low. The boot up time is long compared to my Dell D600 laptop running XP (but that could be a problem related to Vista). The VeriFace feature (uses your face instead of a password to log you in)is not really good (hence I disabled it). The FAN is noisy when it turns on (which is only at start up). Use your American Express Card (if you have one) to add one year to your warranty.

At $600 after rebate, this is an awesome value. Too bad about Windows Vista, though, but it is a great opportunity to try another OS. I’ve only had the Y410 for 3 days now. First thing I did was shrink the existing Windows partition and install Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) as dual boot. Haven’t tried the sound and DVD yet but encrypted 802.11g wireless worked on first boot. As for the laptop itself: solid build, screen seemed too reflective when off but nice bright and fine when on, and good tactile keyboard. Highly recommended for the $$$.

This is one of the best laptop by far for the price that is right now. i got it for only $600. Amazing screen the Veriface is way cool, to use and show off. 2 gig of ram is perfect for Vista, for now but later on when ram gets cheaper buy 2 stick of 2 gig should be no problem. however wont work with Windows Xp due to driver and issues. otherwise the only bad thing about this is that it only have a X3100. is just fine for video with light games like World of Warcraft but anything above Half life 2 is a little laggy on med or low setting

Bought the Y420 (T70-14001) during Thanksgiving. That was a NEW laptop. Decent performance except that it is slow and sound isnt enough. Wish it had the bluetooth too But just checked with the Buy.Com guy now and he confirmed that this laptop (T70-14002) is a REFURBISHED one. Be careful!
