The transaction for buying and shipping of the monitor went throught smoothly…I was very happy with it until it started ”white screening” about 29 days after the ”buy-date”…Couldn’t return it to tigerdirect…Called Samsung, customer rep immediately scheduled replacement…Unfortunately, 3 days later, I was told the monitor was out of stock and offered a (1) refurbished 204 B (2) new 226BW (3) repair of my monitor… I opted for (1) as I wanted a monitor pronto and 226BW does not have the resolution I wanted… So, overall user satisfaction is OK but it died and they gave me on OLD one…

Very happy with this purchase. Then it gain a whole dead line. I was going to fit out our whole CAD Department with these (15 in all), but I have decided against that for quality reasons. Happy with price and performance. Longevity however leaves something to be desired. Buy to use, with the fact you will be hard pushed to get more than 12-18 months out of it.

This review is more about the problems you may run into if you get a defective unit than the monitor itself. It took me a few weeks to get all the parts for a new PC, so by the time I got around to testing the monitor, Tiger’s 30 day return had expired. Lesson #1, check any new products from TD right away. Samsung told me I only had 30 days to get a new unit but changed it to 90 days after a heated phone call. They agreed to ship me a NEW unit on 6/9. FYI,after 90 days refurb is the only option for the rest of the 3yr warranty. I called 6/20 to check status and was told they don’t have any new monitors to give out. I have to either send mine in for repair or take a refurb. Lesson #2 Get it in writing (email) Pretty amazing that one of the world’s largest electronics companies cannot find a new monitor to replace a defective unit that they shipped. Bottom line for me is that I won’t ever purchase another product from Samsung since they won’t stand by their own replacement policy.
