This is a very good monitor with wonderful colors and exceptionally clear text rendering. However, I’ve had a few issues with it. A DVI cable that came with the monitor was poor quality (thin, flexible and overall cheap looking) and not capable of driving full 1920-pixel screen resolution: picture was blinking and colors messed up. Replacing it with the DVI cable from my old Hitachi monitor fixed this problem. Monitor’s contrast rate is very good and there is no backlit leakage at the edges, however, backlit is not perfectly uniform either: there are four symmetrical lighter spots visible on the black background, a couple inches from each corner. Also, left 1/3 of the picture is always a bit dimmer compared to the rest 2/3 of the screen to the right. Easy to see if you place two identical images (preferably, bright ones) side by side on the screen. The latter problem plagues all 24-inch widescreen LCDs unfortunately, including 24-inch models from Eizo which are twice the price.

Since I am disABLED, with eyesight problems, I wanted to try this to replace my heavy NEC 22” CRT monitor. I have used NECs for years — they just have the best displays! This is no exception. It is very crisp, clear, and bright — much nicer than other brand’s screens!

After owning 2 Viewsonic Lcd’s, the NEC has a much cleaner picture for both text and graphics than the other LCD’s. Though a little pricier than the other 24” wide screens this is a great selection.

I have to say I am 100% satisfied with this Panel. Screen is incredible, colors are natural and bright. I tried Doom 3 and did not notice ghosting of any kind. Text is probably the best of any LCD panel I have seen. I upgraded from my viewsonic VP2030B and it was worth it. This panel is the same type as the Samsung 244T and Dell 2407, but after having tried all three, I have to say that this one is by far the best of the bunch. Price is about 200 more then the Dell and 100 more then the Samsung, but worth it. This monitor is just plain better quailty, from the way they pack it in the box to the picture on the screen
