Nice unit but I wish I would have known about actual street name feature which this unit does not have. Otherwise I’m satisfied with the unit. As always Tiger shipping and order process second to none.

I’m in CA., Bought it 2 weeks ago, I rated this unit a 5 star, gets me wherever I go…but the down fall POI can’t find Home Depot, WALMART and LOWES you need the addresses to get there. I think Magellan needs to update there POI…

never used a gps before. First time using this 4000 put in Cape Carol florida from Fort Wayne IN took me from door to door with unbeleiveable accuracy. Will never travel again with out one.

I’m relatively new to using a GPS, so I relied on other users’ ratings of the Magellan 4000 before buying. Based on a perfect 5-star rating, I naturally expected a good performance, but I was still amazed at what I found. For a good test, I chose a 380-mile trip with which I was already very familiar. You can imagine my surprise when the 4000 actually directed me to turn into my parents’ driveway in tiny Crystal Falls, Michigan!!! Now, that’s pinpoint accuracy! Add to that the screen size, image quality, sound quality, and ease of use, and you have a great combination.

I have the 4050 which is essentially the same unit. Outstanding device. Extraordinarily precise, fast re-routing when needed, decent POI database with lots of detail for the AAA tourbook POIs. Only downside with the 4050 is that the voice recognition sometimes thinks you said ”Magellan” when you haven’t and this interrupts the map. What’s weird is that I can say ”magenta” which is quite close and that won’t trigger it. This only happened 3 times on a 3 hour trip. I would buy one for each car as it is an indispensable navigation aide.
