I’ve had this LG for a couple of months now and it still amazes me. This is the most awsome TV I’ve ever owned. I hooked my Dish, PC, DVD, Game & Surround to it. Got a Harmony 550 (another 5 star item) and viola…. instant satisfaction.

Hard to get a 5 out of 5 from me, but this did. I’ve recommended it to several friends two of which have already ordered. It actually has more goodies and does stuff that I didn’t expect (the USB port handles more uses for example). Excellent picture, and nice controls. I like mine, and that’s all I can really say –Oh, and they beat the anticipated arrival date (shipping) by 5 days!

We did a side-by-side comparison of 5 different TVs in 2K to 4K range at out local TV store. Over all we saw that technologically LCD was best choice.
Compare to DLP, LCD is better because:
1. Video is brighter.
2. There is almost no glare or reflection from bulbs in room or sun light.
3. There is no need to replace projection bulb.
Compared to Plasma, LCD is better choice because:
1. There is no burn in issue with LCD - compared to plasma TVs.
2. 1080p feature is sometimes missing in bigger plasma TVs.
We then compared Sony Bravia 52″, Samsung 52″ and Sharp Aquos 52″ LCD TVs with this one. LG clearly stood out in color. It had bright rich colors. Black contrast (which is generally a problem in LCD) was also far superior. We bought 52LB5D right away.
We can see a clear difference in quality of video. SD channels are far better than how they looked before in our 55″ rear projector HDTV and DVD movies are awesome.
It does have a one con - its bit heavier compared to other LCDs but don’t plan to hang it on a wall so that will be fine.
