The UltraConnect™ II antenna is built into the display cover for optimal signal reception. Unique data protection and reliability features
The ThinkPad X Series features unique data protection and reliability features to help safeguard your valuable data. The Active Protection System utilizes an integrated, airbag-like user-configurable motion sensor to continuously monitor your ThinkPad notebook and temporarily stop the hard drive to help prevent some hard drive crashes when a fall or similar event is detected. In addition, the ThinkPad Hard Drive Shock Absorber uses rubber rails and metal plates to provide extra impact protection.
Incredible battery life, plus new custom battery controls
Get up to 10 hours or more of battery life on X Series models equipped with the 8-cell system battery plus an optional ThinkPad X60 Series Extended Life Battery, which attaches via the docking connector. Select ThinkPad X61s models can run up to 12.5 hours with this same configuration.
And now, new ThinkPad X61 models provide even greater, more individual control over battery life. BatteryStretch, a new feature in Power Manager, lets you to make temporary selections in extreme situations to extend battery life beyond what your regular Power Manager settings might produce. If your battery is drawing down, BatteryStretch gives you an easy interface through which you can, for example, minimize the display refresh rate or disable certain wireless communications devices to help preserve the power you need to finish your work unplugged.
