I had been considering purchasing either an EeePC or wait for one of the other cheap ultraportables coming out this summer. However after reading about experiences using tiny keyboards and squinting a little screens I just couldn’t pass up on this bargain which only weighs slightly more than the EeePC. Once I got my unit I loaded Xubuntu linux and almost everything worked right away, with some minor tweaking to get the specialized thinkpad keys to work. Battery life was pretty good too, lasting about 4 hours. If you have the technical skill in install a lightweight OS this will make an ideal road laptop with snappy performance.

You can’t go wrong for the price. Laptop is a little dinged up but nothing worth fussing about. Works fine. Nothing fancy but a fine buy. I am happy with it so far.

Was a bit skeptical about buying off-lease, but couldn’t resist the price. I’m very pleased with the results! The unit is in excellent shape, very few signs of wear, clearly a cared-for machine. The exterior of this 4-year old machine is actually in better shape than my almost-identical 2-year old X60s. I added 1GB of RAM, which I would strongly recommend. The off-lease option is not for the average consumer with limited technical skills, but for someone who has the time and experience to bring an older PC up to date, this is an incredible buy.
