Working with the aid of Microsoft Windows XP Professional, the ThinkPad R61i can be upgraded to Windows Vista Family as well as obtain a license for Windows Vista Business.  With the pre-supplied Microsoft Windows Vista Conversion Kit, users are able to convert their pre-installed Windows XP operating system to the Windows Vista version.

If one has to transfer files and other business documents to the ThinkPad R61i, he/she need not worry because the R61i comes with three high-speed USB 2.0 ports, one Type II PC Card slot, a LAN port, modem port, VGA port, and audio out and microphone jacks.  It is also equipped with an integrated LAN, modem (with a data transfer rate of 56Kbps), and wireless LAN which are necessary for online business transactions and closing business deals with foreign partners immediately.
