I have owned a couple of other laptops (Dell, Gateway) but this Lenovo IdeaPad out-performs the ones I peviously owned. I did quite a bit of research on this particular model prior to purchasing it so I expected it to perform as it does. I feel that it’s the best 15.4” laptop out there.

For having the laptop for 1 month, I love the experience with it. The laptop has very good looking in appearance. The booting time on Vista is just acceptable. However, all programs go smoothly once the OS is up & running(thank for 2GB RAMs). The overall performance has been great during the period of my ownership. I will recommend it to anyone seeking for a $600 lappy.

I’m very please with the risk I took by getting the Y510 notebook. The laptop is very solid and comfortable to use, the features are outstanding, controls right at your fingertips, like volume, EQ, speaker control, and many more. I love the face recognition program it just take some time to get use to, however getting use to Windows Vista will take a little longer but the new features are worth the time and effort. Overall it’s a great laptop; Lenovo has been in the computer business for a while and is starting their push towards the home computer market in North America, while still number 1 in China.

Initially, I was concerned about purchasing a NTM laptop that hadn’t been out for too long. Upon arrival, I was quite pleased with the overall appearance of the laptop. The textured lid adds a nice change to the traditional laptop. The hinge mechanism is interesting, and enjoyable as well. The way the lid opens allows for better lighting on the screen, and it also hides 2 additional speakers (5 overall, including the subwoofer on the bottom). The keyboard is excellent; typical IBM feel. Very rugged and durable. I decided to keep Vista (I contemplated formatting and installing XP, but opted to go ahead and get used to Vista). The 2gb of memory allows Vista to run very smooth and quick. I’m still getting used to Veriface, which I like. However, it seems to work only at specific distances (keeping your head the same distance that you set it up at.) The screen is beautiful and very bright! I like the 30/130 hard drive partition. In all, this laptop has been excellent thus far!
