The only thing I did not like about the machine is the fact they partitioned the harddrive? The ”C” drive (where Vista OS is) was only about 25 gig? I wiped the system and reloaded. When the ”C” drive is small, programs load by default to teh ”C” drive and even if you tell it to load to ”D”, you still get parts of the program in ”C”. I did lose the some of the ”extra” features when I did a reinstall, but that was no concern, I did not want to use their restore program and the ”turbo” controls on screen were lost. Not sure the ”turbo” does anything. This IS a NICE machine for the money. Extremely PLEASED!

This machine CAN NOT be downgraded to WinXP. Be warned. The only use for this machine is for a media-center @ home. Vista Home Premium pre-installed, does not allow domain-joining in a networked environment. Lenovo does NOT and WILL NOT support WinXP on the 3000 K Series. J-series 3000s downgrade to XP just fine. ”Power Dial” is a COMPLETE GIMMICK. Fan speed does not change on Auto/Turbo/Cool settings. Monitored from the BIOS, no change in RPM/temps. I also monitored in OS using SpeedFan, no change in voltage/rpm/temps.
