The Kodak EasyShare M893 IS combines an eight megapixel CCD imager and a Kodak-branded 3x optically stabilized zoom lens with a 34 - 102mm equivalent focal range. For framing images, there’s a 2.7-inch 230K pixel LCD display, but no optical viewfinder - an increasingly rare option these days and one that would add a good degree of versatility, letting you get the shot when you can’t make out the LCD in bright sunlight, or save battery life by disabling the LCD when accurate framing isn’t vital. Images are stored on Secure Digital / MultiMediaCards including SDHC types, or in 32MB of available internal memory.

Classy and Stylish: Kodak EasyShare M893 Digital Camera
By Daniel Gonzales on August 11th, 2008

Are you looking for a new digital camera? With the wealth of choices available in the market today, it may seem like it’s easy to find the best one. The reality is, though, that we have different tastes, and not all of us are easily pleased.

Among those which really satisfy even the most discerning of us is the Kodak EasyShare M893 Digital Camera. Here we have a point-and-shoot camera that shoots extremely high quality pictures. Its feature set is one of the most robust as well, which ensures that every penny you spend on it is well-spent.

Captures Both Professional and Casual-Type Pictures
Kodak EASYSHARE M893 IS Digital Camera - SilverOne of the Kodak EasyShare M893 Digital Camera’s defining characteristics is that it’s so slim and lightweight. Easy to store or draw from your pocket - when a good photo opportunity suddenly shows up, you’re ready to shoot.

Furthermore, it looks hip, with a classy, contemporary exterior matched with a striking color scheme. Ideal for the shutterbug who wants to take pictures in style. The 2.7-inch LCD screen is quite the looker as well. It’s vivid and makes it easy to compose beautiful shots.

Another remarkable thing about the Kodak EasyShare M893 Digital Camera is that it takes pictures that are big in both quality and size. The camera is fitted with an 8.1 megapixel image sensor, which lets it take pictures at a resolution of up to 3296 × 2472 pixels. And it captures videos at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels as well. With 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom capabilities, you can easily come close to the action and capture the little details that bring images to life.

Since Kodak takes its cameras very seriously, expect true visual precision and a wide spectrum of colors that make for amazing images. With Face Detection Technology, Blur Reduction Technology and Digital Image Stabilization, even when your subject moves, every detail remains crisp and clear. When you’ve decided to print images, let Kodak Perfect Touch Technology clean up the dark areas to reveal more detail. This ensures that printed images look just as good as their digital counterparts. Also, the camera can take beautiful pictures even in low light conditions thanks to its high ISO range.

Even if you’re a casual user, you can still take professional quality pictures with the Kodak EasyShare M893 Digital Camera. There are 20 scene presets and three color modes, which let you adjust to the shooting environment quickly. As a result, pictures come out vivid and breathtaking all the time. Furthermore, the camera can be attached to optional dock accessories; one of the best of which is the HDTV dock, which will let you showcase your pictures beautifully on an HDTV.

With its support for micro SDHC cards, you’ll be able to store a lot of pictures as well. Combined with a high capacity Li-Ion battery, you’ll take pictures from dusk until dawn.

All things considered, the Kodak EasyShare M893 Digital Camera is really a remarkable point-and-shoot camera. It’s amazingly capable, and lets you shoot like a pro, even if you’re one of the most casual of users.

REVIEW BY: theclogger Reviewed  May 24, 2008

I bought this camera at Target and then returned it. It would sometimes shut off randomly, especially when i was zooming in and this was after a recent recharge. In addition, the batter life didn’t last long. The image stabalizer didn’t work well and pictures were blury often. I had a Kodak i bought 4 years ago which takes better pictures. This camera also responded funny with light… we were out on the water on a sunny day and some of the pictures had a pinkish tint. Lastly, the video files are QuickTime MOV file type - which isn’t compatible with programs like windows movie maker. So i end up having to convert the files in order to edit which was a pain.
