Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor HH80562PH0568M
With four execution cores, the Intel® Core™2 Quad processor blows through processor-intensive tasks in demanding multitasking environments and makes the most of highly threaded applications. Whether you’re creating multimedia, annihilating your gaming enemies, or running compute-intensive applications at one time, new quad-core processing will change the way you do everything. Pioneer the new world of quad-core and unleash the power of multithreading.
The Intel® Core™2 Quad processor is the latest in cutting edge processor technology for the desktop PC. Based on the new Intel® Core™ microarchitecture, the Intel Core 2 Quad processor delivers four complete execution cores within a single processor, delivering unprecedented performance and responsiveness in multi-threaded and multi-tasking business and home use environments.
The unprecedented performance of the Intel Core 2 Quad processor is made possible by each of the four complete execution cores delivering the full power of Intel Core microarchitecture. More instructions can be carried out per clock cycle, shorter and wider pipelines execute commands more quickly, and improved bus lanes move data throughout the system faster. This quad-core processor represents Intel’s continued leadership and drive of multi-core processing and more parallel computing.
Doing More with Intel Quad-core
The Intel Core 2 Quad processor is at the center of today’s most interactive and content rich software experiences. The evolving set of threaded multi-media applications, including digital content creation, will shine as users are able to complete tasks faster. Game play can achieve even greater visualization and realism as tasks such as artificial intelligence (AI), physics, and rendering can be distributed across each of the four complete execution cores and run in parallel.
Note: A CPU cooling fan is not included with OEM CPUs, but may be added separately.

Top notch all the way around. I used this on my second build. Easily overclocked to 3.05Ghz with no problems. Can’t beat a 260 buck CPU running at the speed of a $1000 one. Do have the Ultra Thermo-Electric Chill Tech cooler. CPU Idles around 85 deg. F (OS readings). Running on an Asus Maximus Formula MB, 2 gigs 1066 MHZ Dual Channel DDR2. Blows through windows xp like its DOS 6.0. Saying this thing is sweet just doesn’t do it any justice. Multi-tasking is what I do, and I have yet to slow this thing down. I’ll shut up now so you can go buy it. I’m glad I did. I’ve put 178 hours on this machine now, and it hasn’t had a single hiccup.

This processor is a total beast as far as speed goes. It’s hard to believe that such a powerful chip with all that it offers is so inexpensive. No problems at all. Runs like a raped ape. Love it. Thanks tiger.

The other reviewers are right, this is a great CPU. Mine came with an ASUS P5K3 Deluxe mobo and both fired right up after installing in my new rig. Runs great on Vista Ultimate 64. Rock solid with no freezes after a month of use. Haven’t tried overclocking yet but I plan to. Use a good third-party heatsink (Noctua NU-U12P is a great one) and you’ll have all the overclocking you could want.

Very nice - Brought this processor with a new Asus MB and it all went together great. Cleanest upgrade yet - rock solid for 2 months now. Runs everything fast. Can’t wait to overclock.

This is the best processor for your money. G0 Stepping, high temperature durability and therefore is easily over-clockable [if required]. People may tell you that it’s performance is equal to core 2 duo, that’s only because most software don’t effectively use core-processor technology yet. So that only means your investing in something that’s future-proof. As a noob overclocker I got it to go to 3.6 Ghz, but without proper cooling I reset it back. I’ll step-up when necessary, 2.4 Ghz is more than required for me now.
