Worked great right out of the box. I installed xp pro by booting the install disc and have no problems with either xp or vista. VISTA does get a bit of getting used to, but once you understand it, it works better than xp. Would I buy another? YES! Would I recommend to a friend? YES! and I did. I’m glad to see it back on the site.

Can anyone tell me why the previous reviewer said you CANT install XP on this computer??? As a PC tech, I’m almost positive all you need to do is boot from the XP CD and reformat and load the OS. Am I missing something????

Out of the box I had Red video. I guess that’s the risk you take with a refurb. Called HP to return and received back in about 10 days with Mother board replaced. Works great now. It’s pretty fast and a good PC for non-gamer like me. My only major complaint would be the noisy hard disk. I wouldn’t expect that from a Seagate drive. Realized I’m not a fan of Vista and certainly will take some getting used too.

Horrible+Slow and stuck w/Vista; Plus cannot run WinXP. My old 2.8Ghz/2GB-ram WinXP-PC was twice as fast, but it finally died; This Dual-Core 2.2Ghz/3GB-ram PC running Vista is a slug and a terd. Vista Makes this machine Very Slow, Way slower than My Old WinXP machine! Stupid #$!@ VISTA! And You Cannot Install WinXP on it!!!!!!!!!!! If you buy this PC, I hope you enjoyed the hours of frustrating updates and reboots of the Windows 95 era. Microsoft took a 13 year leap backward in performance when they forced Vista onto the PC market. I will have to reload this PC with Linux just in order to keep it.
