Hand down… best bang for the buck (figured I would just cut to the chase)! My wife has the version of this laptop that you can buy from Best Buy… comes with a 1.8Ghz CPU… and 320GB of HDD… I just got this one with the faster CPU (2.2) and the faster HDD (7200)… granted I only get 200GB instead of 320GB… but I can live with that. Both have the 512MB nVidia 8800GTS video card.
Here is a list of games that run very smoothly: Conan (this is my main MMO), Star Wars Galaxies, Crysis, Sins of a Solar Empire, Assassins Creed… the list goes on. Yes I have installed each one of these, and yes, it runs them just fine. I compare this to may huge desktop, 3GHz Quad with 4GB memory and 512MB nVidia 8800GTS, yes my desktop is faster, but the 64bit OS on the laptop actually is more stable and experiences less crashes then my desktop (32bit) while gaming (other things being equal… i.e. temperature, etc).

This notebook has great specs for the price no doubt, but when playing demanding games such as crysis and call of duty etc. it has a tendency to overheat, and will shut down automatically… I have had it for only three days now and am impressed, but at the same time disappointed because i have yet to find an effective solution to curb this malfunction. I have just simply stopped playing these games because i am afraid that they will damage this notebook, which is extremely unfortunate for it being specifically designated for gaming and all..

This laptop is simply amazing. So far I have only played Crysis on it and it runs very smooth with all Graphics set to high. As far as everything else goes, this computer is really fast. I got this computer with 3 years tech support and three years accidental damage and microsoft office and it still came out $1000-$2000 less than other laptops with similar specs. I have yet to install Adobe Design Premium CS3 on it but I am sure it will have no problems running those programs. Only negative aspects of this laptop is that the Fn(function Key) is located at the bottom left. I guess it is not to big of a deal, however I am used to the control key being at the bottom left of the keyboard. Overall this is a great machine.

This is my first notebook after owning several high-end desktops over the years. The performance you get is unbelievable, especially for the price. It is able to Quake 4 at ultra high settings at an average of 50fps. It has a Windows Experience Index of 4.8, which is incredible for a notebook that costs this little. You’d have to spend $2000 on notebooks from other manufacturers to get this level of performance.
The only negative to this pc is the heat of the graphics card. But that’s what you have to put up with if you want good gaming capability. Just be sure to elevate the backside of the notebook a little to give it good air circulation and you shouldn’t have a problem.
