Looks like I’m in the same boat as the guy who said his ”yellow power light just slowly flashed on and off” I just got mine yesterday and it won’t come on. All I get is the flashing yellow light. I’m sure I’ll spend a couple of days trying to figure if this thing was ever refurbished, I mean what the hell does refurbished mean if nothing is done to fix the problem that it was sent back for.

I’ve never bought a Gateway before and after reading the negative reviews about this refurbished unit I was skeptical. Still, I couldn’t pass up such a great deal so I decided to buy one and hope for the best. Well, I’m happy to say that after about 2 weeks I’ve had zero problems and it’s running great. It’s very fast and the case looks cool. What I also like is that the case isn’t ridiculously huge like other gaming PC’s and it runs very quiet for a gaming PC. I wasn’t looking for the fastest computer out there, just one that would play the newest and upcoming games for a bargain price. Looks like I’ve found it.

This computer is great. It’s really, REALLY fast. It looks nice (if that matters to you), and the Gateway support people on the phone are courteous and helpful. The only problem I had was everything came loosely-connected and/or unplugged. I had to push in the hard drive, dvd-drive, and video card connectors. The hard drive also wasn’t screwed in to the case and was moving around. These things are simple for me to fix, and since I have built systems before I knew where to look and what to do…but before I had looked for these issues the people on the phone were about to have me return the thing. So, it’s a great deal for the money…you just might have to tighten a few screws before things work 100%

Alright, honestly I have not even been able to use my computer yet. I recieved it about 2 weeks ago, and at first they thought the hard drive was DOA, so after about 4 days I recieved another. Now it turns out it wasn’t the hard drive, but instead it might me the motherboard. So now I have to package it up and send it to gateway, so they can fix it. Due to how quick vista installation loaded though, I know it is a very fast computer, also if you think about it, saving close to $400 dollars is definately worth the wait, considering this system is around $1,149.00 brand new

A very good-looking computer, but problems started with the fist task I gave it. The FX4710-UB003A was unable to make a recovery disk. Not a big problem, since I use Norton 360, and back-up using Norton. The next set of problems were very bad. The Gateway would not remember the commands I gave it to go to screen saver or hibernate; it would just run full-power all the time. The problems worsened when I tried to turn the computer back on. The yellow power light just slowly flashed on and off. I finally found the only way to turn on the computer was to lightly tap the side, while holding down the power button. I think this Gateway was reconditioned on a Friday afternoon, before a long weekend. QC definitely looked the other way on this one!

deadgamer,restart your puter hit f8 steady and repeatedly until the recovery screen pops up, then select recovery commander, press enter then select factory restore.wait for recovery to finnish. Wala, enter your name & password and its off to the races!

I purchased the twin of this puter the fx7026 refurbished unit. Only difference is the 8800gt video card and 4 gigs of memory not 6 gigs.my factory refurubished unit was not refurubished. It is currently locked by the previous users 2 passwords. Gateway would not tell me how to unlock it. They said they will send a factory install disk that will do a complete reinstall of everything including the firmware. Problem is they said it will take 2 to 4 weeks to get. the operating system disk that came with it would not reload a fresh version of vista. I surmise this is due to the passwords on the puter. I have opted to return this item for exchange.It sure did look pretty though.I am hoping that the exchanged product will work. According to all the reviews i had read, this is supposed to be a very good product. I guess i will find out in a couple of weeks. The help i have received so far is weak. I feel as if i have purchased a 700 dollar lump of coal!!!
