Ummm… someone needs to work on their math / temperature skillz. 30 degrees C is only like 86 degrees F, unless you’re computing in a Freezer, that’s really not much heat at all.

This processor KICKS BUTT!!!! LOL yes i said KICKS BUTT! i have had it for 2 days and im raceing like crazy with this thing in a biostar board and 2 XFX 512mb 8500GT’s PCI EXpress video cards.

Sweeeeeeet! Nice fast chip. No oc limits. Runs fast, but warm, pick up a nice heatsink. Currently running stable at 3.668! MSI sucks, go biostar!, will not try msi again.

This processor is fantastic, it’s the best AM2 solution period, and runs right with the Intel competitors. I upgraded from a 4400+ and it’s unreal how much faster and responsive my system is. Mine is the black edition, and it came with a very nice AMD heat sinc and fan. Install took under 10 minutes, from power down to power on. This cpu is, for the price, the best investment I’ve made in years.

Just got this 6400 yesterday. This CPU is FAST period. I upgraded from AMD 64×2 2.85 and I must say its a significant difference. No need to overclock. I’m running ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe (wireless edition) with 2Gb corsair 800gb ram, and dual DVI 320Gb GeForce APG w/SLI technology. The Black Edition runs great on all my games…Crysis, Call to Duty 4, Unreal Tournment, Enemy Terrority…all flawless. This CPU is a ”must buy” for gamers, affordable and packs a PUNCH. CONS: It does runs warm (25-30 degrees in my ANTEC 900 gamer case) and does not ship with a fan. Overall a super buy…thanks TIGER DIRECT!

No…actually the Black Edition is for overclocking the CPU. It has no restrictions on the chip whatsoever. All the bridges have NO restrictions which is why it is an OC’ers heaven…so it is worth the extra $$ if you OC

Runs cool, runs fast, exactly what I was looking for. CPU multiplier is unlocked in this processor, but I am not sure how much more you can overclock an AMD chip on the 90 nm platform.

The Black Edition dose not come with a fan! the other 6400 is a better deal its the same thing with a free game, neither come with a fan.
