AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Processor ADA5000CSBOX
Frustrated by staring at the hourglass icon as soon as you try to work on more than three programs at once, especially when you’re working with digital media? Increase your performance with the AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual core processor. Work or play with multiple programs without any stalling or waiting. Dual-core technology is like having two processors, and two working together is better and faster than one working alone. Do more in less time with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor.
Next Generation Platform is Here
Socket AM2 from AMD is designed to enable next-generation platform innovations such as AMD Virtualization and high-performance, unbuffered DDR2 memory to the award-winning AMD64 architecture. This new technology is for prosumers and digital enthusiasts who are looking to run sophisticated, multiple processor-intense applications simultaneously. With socket AM2, AMD brings new capabilities like AMD Virtualization to both commercial and consumer users. Virtualization on desktop computers allows a single PC to act like multiple virtual machines. AMD Virtualization can enable client computers to seamlessly support multiple operating environments. Therefore, IT managers can now gain the ability to develop and test software across multiple operating systems on a single computer to facilitate software migrations, isolate business and personal operating environments to increase security and reliability, and to initialize and manage client computers with less interruption to end users. AMD Virtualization helps make it easier for PC enthusiasts to upgrade and maintain their PCs through emulation.
New DDR2 Support Jump Starts Transfer Rates
DDR2 memory is the next generation of DDR memory that supports the open standards efforts of the Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council (JEDEC), the governing body for integrated circuit specifications. It uses an advanced signaling scheme that can offer higher data transfer rates than DDR1 memory. The advanced signaling scheme mentioned above allows high transfer rates using traditional PC motherboard manufacturing techniques. DDR2 benefits to customers include lower voltage and higher frequency headroom than DDR1 memory. Socket AM2 processors from AMD will support DDR2 speeds of 400MHz, 533MHz, 667MHz and, for AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core and AMD Athlon™ 64 FX dual-core processors, 800MHz.
Like all the processors in the AMD Athlon 64 family, the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor is designed for people who want to stay at the forefront of technology and for those who depend on their PCs to keep them connected, informed, and entertained. Systems based on AMD Athlon 64 processors are able to deliver leading-edge performance for demanding productivity and entertainment software today and in the future.

Great Chip for the price. This is the 10th AMD system I’ve built and I have yet to be disappointed; save your money and go AMD, this 5000 is fast.

Great CPU, yes I do get a little jealous of my friends with their big Intel Quad Cores and I nearly regret buying this. But then I remember that my whole computer cost about as much as their Processor and motherboard did and that makes me happy again. Great little budget Processor. Fast enough for anything the Quad cores are too fast for the average consumer. Dont waste your money on a Intel, these are as fast as your gonna need. I only gave performance a 3 because of how much faster other processors are. but If I could of given Value a million I would have.

Look. you can get a 6400+ or this. the 5000+ is only 3-5% slower. I play games, I do video editing, My computer is a music studio, and I use fx lab video fx’s. It will run just fine. It is fast. the key is ram when working with video software. It’s a good buy. And the fact that the price is about to fall is a good thing.
