Perfect little gadget for doing all of your essential computing on the go! I am a student and this will be perfect for taking notes in class and downloading/reading course notes as well. I am very impressed with the performance of the linpus linux os as it starts up very quickly and is very stable from what i have seen so far. Keyboard is surprisingly easy to get used to and is very responsive. All in all a great value and does exactly what it needs to do (note: i wouldn’t use this as a primary computer, but if your needs are basic then this little guy is more than enough).

Phenomenal value. Everyone who has seen mine wants one, even a few people welded at the hip to Windows. You can’t break the software on this, as far as I can tell. And it’s easy to access the full power of the fedora base system (do a quick Google to find out how). I have already installed a ton of extra software (Postgres, Skype, Gimp, etc). The Add Software option under the XFCE menu works perfectly. I assumed that I would abandon Linupus and install my own Linux when I got the machine home, but Linpus actually works very well for me on this as a pure appliance PC. When I want extra functionality, I can run it. To my surprise, Linpus is staying on the machine. I have never had a machine, Windows or Linux, where everything just worked properly. Everything I have installed on top also works perfectly (even Skype full screen videoconferencing). If this had had XP on it, it would already be messed up. And it only cost $350!! I can’t say enough good about it.

I just bought one of this baby’s added 1gb more of ram which was a pain to add. U have to fully open the laptop then gut it out then u wil lbe able to add more ram. Now with 1.5gb rma is supers fast with linpus and in xp too.

Just received today, wow tigerdirect is fast! Very good first impression on the Acer. I’m pretty picky on computers in general and I think there are going to sell alote of these. Not sure on the Linux , but so far so good. (XP may be put on soon) For most people I think Linux is better and dead simple to use, but for people who want more advanced programs and features xp is the way to go.

WOW IM SO EXITED , small keyboard, weird touch pad are the only drawbacks, this linux is awsome, although if I can i would not mind getting xp somehow(game wise) but it DOES have 101.9 Gb of free space on first time. and the webcam is sick quality!! this is my second laptop, I will be able to use it everywhere! whatelse…. well easy connection to wireless, two seconds out of the box i was on yahoo! Truely a good buy, for a childs first laptop, for school, or just for websurfing!
