For the price paid - it’s an excellent laptop. I didn’t like the limited version of Linux (I prefer Ubuntu), but with a few tutorials, i installed WinXP on this laptop and it works GREAT (drivers have to be downloaded from Acer’s site). It runs Office, Internet over Wi-Fi, even plays games that require 3D acceleration. And it costs less than 350 dollars!

The laptop itself is very good. The Linpus Linux OS that is included is very, very lame. I got the wireless connecting with Linpus no problem, but then applied the recommended software updates and the wireless stopped working, never to work again. I got so fed up that I installed Windows instead (no easy task since there is no CD/DVD drive, and Acer has not released any drivers for this yet).

It’s silent, cool, small, light, it has a very clear screen and is very responsive. I will use it mostly as a terminal and up to now, it seems to be a perfect fit for this purpose. The keyboard is also very good although it takes a little time to get used to it.

This is a good quality laptop. It is fast, reliable and easy to use. The Linux is very good and easy to use. This computer runs fast with Linux and slow with windows. It also comes with all of the word processing and office programmes.

This thing really has everything you could need in a laptop. The camera is decent for chatting, it has a multi-card reader in addition to the SD slot that the competition has. It was a very clear and bright widescreen display with excellent vivid colors and deep blacks. It’s light, it doesn’t get hot, it’s silent, it looks good open or closed, it’s got the Intel Atom processor which is based on 45nm architecture. And it’s cheap compared to the competition. If there were any drawbacks, I’d say that the wireless card inside (Atheros) is not the best, but with the latest drivers, it seems to be up to the job for most people (students on campus, at home, coffee shops). Also, the 8GB SSD is not as fast as it could be since it’s connected to the motherboard via cable although it’s soldered on. Lastly, Linpus Lite is a load of bull. It’s alright if you’re a 5 year old learning the basics of computers. Erase it, install XP Pro for an awesome little netbook.
