Great design, has room for 2 hard disks internal. Recommend that you buy the brand new ones, not the referb. Out of 3 referb notebooks, one worked. In one someone had tried to replace the wireless card. He jerked off the cables and destroyed the connectors on the cables. Replaced the card and tried to hammer on the broken connectors, breaking the card. Failing to attach the antenna cables, he just left them hang loose. Then he failed to re-image the hard drive, leaving the previous customer’s data visible. In the last one, it came up for a minute, then died: black screen, no CPU, no hard drive activity. DEAD. Whoever Acer is sub-contracting the referb operation out to is a bunch of never do wells.

Great computer for the price, however touch key pad was very erratic. After two days of frustration, called the Technical Support. Found out it was necessary to load a different driver. Alps driver didn’t work good, needed Synaptic touch pad driver. Technical Support not the best, but I finally found the Synaptic driver on the ACER site. This laptop is for my wife. She will like it very much now that it is working okay. 17 inch screen great and a keypad with separate numeric keys are a plus for her learning how to use a computer.
