I got this laptop as a low priced way to make my studio portable. The review about the laptop using up 90% of it’s resources at startup is no joke. This laptop sucks. However, I will be writing a new review for it when I’ve gotten XP on it. Another problem I’ve had with it is it dropping my Wifi signal CONSTANTLY! I’m going to have to say, if you’re looking to get a laptop, spend a little more money and get something worth it.

Overall it is a good computer. The customer Service for Acer is horrible. I wanted to downgrade to XP on this machine and they would not help me do it. The only way I would be able to do this is pay somebody to do it for me. I tried doing it through BIOS and it would not recognize the hard drive. I will never buy an Acer again.

Great deal. Right off the bat, I powered this box up and it was using 90% of its resources. I uninstalled most of the acer tools/programs, games and Norton. Installed Free AVG antivirus and installed another 1GB stick of memory (2GB now on board). The box now runs at 39% resources at boot up. Wireless operation has been great, detected my home network faster than any of my XP home boxes.

Bought this for my wife who is not particularly computer literate. Took to this notebook and Vista as a fish takes to water. Integrated it to my wireless network with little effort.
